Sump PumpsProtect Your Home From Flooding With a Sump PumpBasements can flood for a number of reasons. A basement that’s below or close to the water table can be prone to flooding. In some homes, basements are prone to flooding after heavy rains – like some of the torrential rains we get in spring in the Dayton area. If left to stand, water in a flooded basement can cause major problems for you and your family. However the water gets into your basement, The Problem Solvers can help you get it out as soon as possible. Sump Pump Inspection, Repair and ReplacementSump pumps are mechanical devices, and like everything mechanical, they will eventually break down. And a broken sump pump can leave you facing a huge mess. We recommend annual inspection of your sump pump system by a trained technician. This annual inspection can help you fix or replace a sump pump before it breaks. If your sump pump has already stopped working, give The Problem Solvers a call right away. We can help you assess the situation, make the necessary repairs or install a new sump pump if needed. Click here to schedule an inspection. Sump Pump InstallationIf your basement is prone to flooding, installing a sump pump can help you prevent long-term damage to your home. There are basically two types of sump pumps: electrical and water powered. Electrical sump pumps are hard-wired into your home’s electrical system . They come with battery backup systems in case of a blackout, which can often occur during a big storm – right when you need it most. The other type of sump pump relies on the pressure of your home’s water system to pump the water out of your basement. Water powered pumps are generally used as backup systems. (See more on water-powered sump pumps below.) The sump pump can either be placed in or be connected to what is known as the sump pit . Water accumulates in the pit until it reaches a certain level, which then turns on the sump pump. The water is pumped out of the sump pit and out of your basement. If you think your home might need a sump pump, call The Problem Solvers to have one our technicians assess your situation and make some recommendations. Water Commander Water-Powered Sump PumpsAt The Problem Solvers, we are big fans of water-powered sump pumps. In particular, we like the Water Commander brand of water-powered sump pumps and are the only authorized Water Commander dealer in the Dayton area. Water Commander sump pumps work great as backup sump pumps. Water-powered sump pumps don’t need electricity to operate. Instead, they use the pressure from your home’s water system to pump water out of your basement. Water Commander sump pumps are easily adaptable to a wide range of situations. Water Commander sump pumps also make great backup pumps if you have an electrical sump pump. However, water-powered sump pumps are not recommended if you have a well since your home’s well pump is reliant on electricity which can go out during a storm. Emergency Sump Pump Repair ServiceIf your home’s sump pump is broken, The Problem Solvers offers emergency repair service.
